Amersham Arms

Saw Sheen play last week at Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes

Antimatter People
Today we went to the colonel fawcett and saw our friend Yehan Jehan & Antimatter People play.
I’ve always know that Yehan was a pedal freak, but this was a new level.

Model Staggs/All We Are/Stealing Sheep
Yesterday we went down to the Lock Tavern to play a couple of songs at the dj booth for SHELTEREDs night. There were 3 awesome bands playing.
First on was Model Staggs from Cambridge
Next was All We Are from Liverpool
Last on was Stealing Sheep. They were great headliners

Brighton
Yesterday me and Soph went to Brighton. That sea looks gooooood
Amongst other things, we spent a good part of the day at a guitar shop in the Lanes. I tired out this Fender Mustang Kurt Cobain model. It is so nice, oh yeah!
White On White
Yesterday we had our first show with new HBD member Chris O’Driscoll at the Lock Tavern for Lottarox. We had loads of fun
Our next show is this Thursday at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen for White on White. We’ll be playing with Slaves, supporting Sulk. Email us for £4 cheap list!

finishing touches
Yesterday we went to do the finishing touches for our 3 new demos at Jack Allett’s house. Jack mastered all of the Living Room songs so we knew it would be a good day.
In between each going in and recording our last parts, we managed to fit in two whole dvds - Slow Century about Pavement and We Jam Econo about Minutemen.

Recording Demos

Printing!
This is the artwork that we’re using for Living Room. It’s a lino-cut made by the brilliant Maureen Nathan (http://www.maureennathan.com) and we’re hand printing it onto each CD
Yesterday we spent the whole day printing the cds. It took a long time, but with an efficient and ruthless production line, we managed it, even if our hands were very tired.

Recording
Yesterday we went to the EMI studio at the Roundhouse to do some recording for a song called Move Back In. It’s the first of hopefully 3 sessions in the studio - so new songs on the way!

Busy Bees
Today we’re hard at work in Tills living room finalising everything for our new 4 song, home-recorded project, ‘Living Room.’ A video for one of the new songs will be up soon.

Just Music That I Like
Last night we played our show of the year at The Old Queens Head for http://www.justmusicthatilike.com/ and it was a really good night. We were excited about it before we even played.
Soundcheck was good and that man has massive feet.
Playing last night was Anna Lena & The Orchids who were great.
Also playing were Model Railway Exhibition who were so noisy and so rad.

Thingymajiggy
We just finished our last day of proper recording for our new project-thingymajiggy. Now it’ll just be tweaking and fussing over things that no one else will notice. The fun is just about to start.
Luc took a power nap after eating some toast. He was working really hard today.

Festive recording today, working on an instrumental track for our new project.
The is probably my favourite instrumental, it’s by Broken Social Scene. If ours is as anything as good as this then I will be a very happy girl this Christmas.
To Kill A King
Yesterday we played a gig at Notting Hill Arts Club. It was the first time we’ve played our new song ‘Dull.’ My grandma recorded the whole set so maybe we’ll post that sometime soon. Hi grandma!
We were supporting To Kill A King and they played a really epic set. It was such a fun way to end 2011. Thanks to everyone who came down. yeah!
Little Racer

Big Deal
Yesterday we went to go see our buddies Big Deal play a killer show at the Lexington.
Watch this because it’s really really good.
Snakes and Ladders
We played a gig at The Star of Kings today and while we were waiting for our set we played a horribly competitive game of Snakes and Ladders.
Lucas won the game, but he’s losing at life.

PR Success
The weekend was a really good one in terms of getting our ugly mugs into the big wide world of the news (both tv and paper.)
On Friday we were filmed by the BBC news team and that was pretty awesome.

SHELTERED// Olugbenga / Womans Hour
This weekend we played a really awesome gig at The Lock Tavern playing alongside two really great sets.
First was Woman’s Hour which was really really good. The instrument arrangement reminded me of Portishead, The XX and Left Field and Fiona’s voice was similar to Lykke Li. Basically it was just a really awesome set and we were massively happy to be sharing the stage with them.

Noisy Neighbours
On Friday night we played at The Horatia with Noisy Neighbours. They made this cool poster which is now on my bedroom wall.
Inbetween soundcheck and playing Lucas got a happy meal which made him way too happy.
On Sunday morning we made a breakfast fit for a king.
Look how tasty that breakfast looks.

Elephant Stone
On Friday we played at The Bull and Gate and here are some photos we took on the night.

Guitar Heaven
Last Sunday we went to Denmark Street to once again lust after things that we’re probably never going to get. But this time I saw something so pretty that I might just be convinced. It’s a Fender Limited Edition Blues Junior III Combo in a green colour.

Update
We really enjoyed our set last week at Native Tongue with Stop Look Listen. The sound guy was the most enthusiastic and friendly sound guy we’ve ever had. Normally sound guys are either angry or really high, and he was just really really happy which made a very welcome change. The promoters were lovely and the other bands were great. Win.

Underage
Tomorrow we’re playing at Underage Festival on the Roundhouse Rising stage which will hopefully be a jolly good time.
